About Melody Rubie, Founder and President

A Speech Pathologist by training, Melody Rubie worked with special needs as well as non-special needs children in the public schools, before founding Smart Start Sitters.  She is the mother of a young son as well as an accomplished opera singer and musical theater performer both on Broadway and in Europe. Her passion for, and knowledge of, early childhood development–starting with her own child–inspired her to create Smart Start Sitters to fill the same needs and desires of other mothers. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and son.
